I just read the messages about Svejkovsky and would like to share what I know and touch base with you so we might collaborate.

My maternal great grandfather was Ignac Donat. His brother was Frantisek Donat. The Donats came from Zbiroh near Plzen. There are still Donats in the area according to the online Czech phone directory.. The Donat brothers both immigrated to Cleveland Ohio, Ignac first, and Frantisek along with his wife Anna Svejkovsky in 1903. I know that Anna had a sister Veronika who was still in Bohemia in 1903. Anna outlived Frantisek by 30 years and committed suicide in 1949. She and Franta had lived on Hamlet Ave. in Cleveland.

I was interested to learn that you had seen a list of students from a town called Svejkovice near Beroun as this is not far from Zbiroh. I couldn't find any listing of it at the online Czech mapping site I use. There is a Svejkova though, located about halfway between Prague and Brno.
