I am also curious about this story. My maternal Grandmother was a Kellogg. My line runs through Elijah and his father Deacom William.

The 1906 Kellogg Book "The Kelloggs in the Old World and the New" has the information stated above under Deacon William, but also states, among other things on Elijah's page (p 255):
"While living in Kingston, Pa., he was with Col. Zebulon Butler, at the battle and massacre of Wyoming, Pa., 4 July, 1778; he was captured by the Indians, but escaped at night after six days' captivity."

I do not see him as listed on the Wyoming monument. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!
