There is a story/legend in my grandmother's family of a female ancestor who was kidnapped by Indians and married to one of them. The story goes that when she had her first baby, it had blue eyes and for some reason the Indians she was with wanted to kill it. It goes on to say that she escaped an hid in a hollow tree where she stayed for three days while she could hear the Indians searching for her and the baby. She later made her way back to her family. Most of my grandmother's family were early German settlers in PA although her maternal grandfather's family did not come over until 1832. Has anyone heard a similar story? If so, do they know who this woman was? Many in my family have decidedly "Indian" features and coloring, but we can't find our Indian ancestor.
