Susannah Sonicooie was not on the Trail of Tears.
She was born abt.1764 in GA.Her name was Soniovie (Susannah) Sonicooie, a full blood Cherokee of the Blind Savannah (Wild Potato) Clan. Sonicooie was the name of the Clan Mother,(Elise Sonicooie). We believe that she was married to a Blue Sonicooie(they took the female name) and had a daughter, Peggy Sonicooie,(Peggy being a missionary name),b.abt.1780. Peggy married Alexander Sanders.
Susannah married Thomas Cordery, a white man, abt.1784-85 by tribal custom. They lived many years near the Etowah River, then moved to Suwanee, Old Town, in present day Forsythe Co.,GA.
About 1820, Thomas left Susannah and married 2nd wife, Susannah Carroll.
Susannah died abt. 1835 and is buried in Forsythe Co.,GA.
I beleive that--
All of their children eventually emigrated to Indian Territory.
I am a descendant of the youngest daughter, Susan Cordery and John Mosley.
