I just for the fun of it, typed in your ancestor's name on the Ellis Island records. Although his first name didn't come up, a Michael Warsik did, and he was from Wierchomla, Poland, which is a village about 30 miles from my village of Binczarowa ( I went to www.expediamap.com and typed it in).

I am not saying 100% that your ancestor is from that village, but the likelyhood is high. Keep digging--you will discover more.
