I grew up in Richardson, Texas, and am familiar with the old Routh Cemetery. Alternately, it is sometimes called the "Stagecoach Cemetery," because a number of people were buried there who had passed away while riding the stage .... the route of which passed over pioneer, Jacob Routh's homestead, during the mid-nineteenth century.
The "black prairie" (more commonly, "Blackland Prairie") takes its name from the heavy, black clay which comprises the soil of the region.
Sincerely,
Holly
