I am at work and do not have any specific information with me but there is a family story about my relative Harvey Looney shooting the sheriff Oscar Martin in southern Virginia(New Castle, Giles County?) in the early half of the 1900's. I was told by family that Looney escaped from jail but others told me there was a trail. I would love to have any information someone might have on this event. The only thing I have is an obit for Martin and family stories. Thanks.
