you might consider donating it to a family history center library.
patent repository libraries have a full set of these ledgers, for each year starting in 1790. some years have many volumes, the early years only have one.
once you have the correct year, if you have the inventor's name the ledger will give you the patent number. you can download the full copy of every patent he filed during that year from the patent office web site.
