To answer your query I would have to say that to display any personal arms attributed to a specific individual, one would have to have the complete paternal pedigree going back to the original armiger. Without that pedigree (also listing the siblings of each generation) it would be impropper for those arms to be ascribed to a specific individual.

NB: There is no such thing in real life as a "family crest".
