Seems like somebody decided that all this stuff about people in the North East of England belongs on a Canada Board - weird.
Anyway I think I've sorted out where Ann BROWN came from though not yet the maiden name of her mother.
This seems to be Ann in 1881 census Rg11-5024 folio 4
Marley Hill Hole. Marley, Whickham, DUR
William ROBSON Head Widr 68 Coal Miner NBL Berwick?
John ROBSON Grandson Unm 23 Coal Miner DUR Marley Hill
Margaret BROWN Servant Mar 39 Domestic Servant NBL Angleton?
Annie BROWN Servant Unm 9 Scholar DUR Marley Hill
So it seems that Ann BROWN was not born in Morpeth and the parents are not Jonathan BROWN and Hannah ROBSON as Amber said and has on her tree.
I could not find her birth in Freebmd but DRO (Durham Records Online) has what looks like her baptism.
Baptisms, Lanchester District - Record Number: 733037.0
Church: Primitive Methodist Circuit
26 Dec 1871 Ann Brown, of High Row, Marley Hill, Whickham, born 20-Dec, child of Jonathan (coal miner) & Margaret Brown
So it seems her father was called Jonathon BROWN.
Here is Jonathan and Margaret BROWN in 1871 census Rg10-5063 folio 23

Johnathan BROWN Head Mar 32 Coal Miner CUL Alston

Farlam CUL there is
David BROWN Boarder Unm 23 Coal Miner CUL Alston
Jonathan BROWN Boarder Unm 21 Coal Miner CUL Alston
They are living with William ARMSTRONG age 36 Coal Miner NBL Haltwhistle.
So maybe that is how Jonathan BROWN met Margaret ?????
However - still cannot find index of either of the marriages of Margaret nor the birth of her daughter in order to find the maiden name of Margaret.
