Could someone please give me both a history and a geography lesson. I'm looking for information regarding the region in Scotland that immigrants to Canada know as the Lady Cathcart Settlers originated from. There were two waves one in 1882 and another in 1884 that settled in the Canadian Northwest Territories (now Eastern Saskatchewan - Wapella/Moosimin region) Who would/could have been referred to as Lady Cathcart in 1882? And where did she live? Canadian history records her as being a very fore thinking person.
Looking for information on settlers named Effie Campbell (b abt 1874) and Angus McPhee (b 1 Jul 1875, Scotland) or any Campbell/McPhee settlers who may have been their parents.
I believe they had a child Jessie Agnes McPhee b 2 Jan 1894 Wapella, Sask, Canada
Angus McPhee was a blacksmith in Wapella, Sask, Canada 1901
thanks
