So far, I've struck out looking for ships that might have carried my dad and other to South America in 1938. But then, I have little to go on. My father (Herbert Liffmann, deceased), several other family members and friends (Harry Nathan, Helmut Nathan and Heinz Kochman) from the Wickrath/Dusseldorf area supposedly went overland into Holland in 1938, embarked on a British ship (port unknown) for Buenaventura, Colombia via Southhampton. Had to cross the Panama Canal. My mother, the source of this information, is certain of the Buenaventura arrival from Southhampton.
