Re: Irish Immigrants to New York between 1846-1851
My Irish great grandmother, Anna Nevins, was born in NY in 1849. Her older brother may have been born in NY which would mean they arrived before the time your book covers. Her father was Patrick Nevins, mother Ellen (Mallen). I haven't been able to find out exactly when they immigrated. But I do know they were in Michigan for the birth of their next/third child in 1853.
One Michigan census had their name listed as Navins. I imagine it sounded that way. I would really appreciate it if you could check your book for their names.
Thank you, Cathy Fields
