Thank you for your reply!
I don't believe so as those names do not ring a bell. I had also looked into the Furnessia but it was not launched until 1880. I have a feeling that the December 26th is correct as it is the day after Christmas and would likely be remembered. Of course the Petition for Naturalization was dated 1925 so this was 53 years after her emigration.
The ship left Londonderry Ireland on 12 December 1872 and arrived in New York on 26 December 1872 according to the petition.
Her name was Lillie McCurdy born 5 September 1850 and she would have been 22 at the time. I believe the following McCurdy family members may have made the voyage together:
Mary McCurdy approx 27
David McCurdy approx 25
Lillie McCurdy approx 22
Jane McCurdy approx 20
James W. McCurdy approx 18
Samuel McCurdy approx 12
Margaret McCurdy approx 49
Margaret was the mother of the 6 other individuals. It's been difficult to verify anything as Margaret died 5 years later and never appeared in any census records. I have some census info for 5 of the 6 children after 1880 but nothing concrete about emigration except the Petition for Naturalization of Lillie.
I also should mention that I don't know for sure that the ship was "SS" as it may have been another nation's vessel.
