Differences in ship's manifest

I have been researching arrivals from Ireland, and have noticed that the same ship on the same voyage has two different formats for the Manifest of Alien Immigrants. One is a very nice, long form with the Cunard Line name on it, which shows, among other things, the person with whom they were staying upon arrival in the US. This can be very valuable, for instance I found one relative recorded as staying with an uncle, whose name and address were provided, whom I had no other records on. Yet, on the same ship, others immigrant passengers were recorded on a more rough short form which did not have this column, and so no record of who they were staying with was obtained. I wish I had the long form for everyone. If you care to look at the manifest, it is the 10 May 1896 arrival of the Catalonia from Queenstown in Boston.
