Classification: Query
Surnames: Dixon/Dickson
I've been searching for my ancestors arrival to America from Scotland but so far no leads. Archibald Dickson/Dixon left Scotland in 1848/1849/1850.
He came with wife, Isabella/Elizabeth, b.1819 and three children: John, b.1840
Adam, b. Aug. 24, 1845
Anna, b. Apr. 1848
I find the family in 1850 living in Philidelphia,Pa. Archibald Dickson/Dixon was a dyer and weaver by trade in the States.
If anyone could give me a lead as to what ship or port they came into I would be so grateful.
PS. they may have lived around Paisley Scotland...don't know if this helps
