Bloom, Scioto County Ohio 1850 census indicates the father, mother, Addel and Alfred were all born in France

In a later census Alfred is listed as being from Germany

Germany did not exist as we know it today, this did not occur until the 1850s. Lorraine (Alsace-Lorraine) is a region in France that borders Germany.... and parts may have been under the rule of German states See the 2 pages of the manifest attached There is a population of ethnic Germans in this region

Thus it is likely Conrad and Mary (Marie in French or Maria German) were from the same place or area.

I don't know where you searched for info "before they came to the US" but you will need to know the exact town/village of their origin in order to find specific info
