OK, this may not be super helpful, but interesting to know, at least.
Korinthos= Corinth. Look at a map. It's on the isthmus between the mainland and the Peloponnese. There's a canal through the isthmus. They used to leave from Corinth, through the canal, because, otherwise, you have to sail all the way around. It's why you don't usually see it listed, because it was easier to take ship somewhere else.

Given the time period, the canal was becoming less of an option for the modern ships (it's really narrow), which means he may have jumped a ship from Corinth and then another from one of the larger ports. Good luck! I know we had a really hard time finding info on my husband's family, because Ellis Island took all sorts of tries at spelling their names!
