Looking for Frankowicz

Classification: Query
Surnames: Frankowicz, Frenkowicz, Pula
My great-grandfather was Joseph Frankowicz (b. about 1876), he immigrated to the US in 1907. His wife was Tekla (Tillie) Pula (b. about 1882), immigrated to the US in 1913. The immigration information is from the 1920 census - I have not been able to find passenger records for them anywhere, under any permutation of their surname. Nor can I find what town they were from in Poland.

Family legend says that Joseph and Tillie left a son behind in Poland. My educated guess is that this son would have been born between 1898-1912 in Poland.

Tillie and Joseph had two sons in the US: Matthew (b. 1916) and Walter (b. 1917). Walter was my grandfather.

I've hit a wall and I think I need to search for records in Polish, which is extremely tedious since I don't speak or read the language at all. I'm hoping someone out there can help me find some information/documentation about Joseph Frankowicz and Tillie Pula, and perhaps this legendary son.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
