Not sure. His wife stated that he died and she remarried in Feb 1922. Actually she thought he had died earlier than Nov, 1923 date of the destruction. Family records showed that he died about 1919-1920, so I was quite surprised to find a passport application dated Jun 1920 showing him working and living in Miami and headed to the Bahama Island "for recreation". One of the family stories, whispered about, was that he ran off about 1918 when his daughter was 5. All family members that might know anything have passed. I can not find a date of death for him in any of the records. He may have died in the Bahamas, I just do not know. BTW, to answer your question, the passport is not indicated as a replacement.
