I noticed the Columbus City Directory also. But why do you say that he was head of household? I see no reference to him being head of household. Keep in mind that in the time frame of that directory that people were considered to be "of age" much earlier than today. I know that in 1907 when my Grandfather came from Croatia he was 16 traveling alone and went to work in a PA coal mine! And I know that my wife's grandfather lied about his age to begin working earlier than 16.

In that post on rootsweb you mentioned that he was a musician in the military in TX..... well 6th and McCoy in Columubs is near...the old Ft Hayes (named after President Rutheford B. Hayes)! But that address is probably no longer there as freeways have been built in that area.

I noticed that one of the records stated he was a Naturalized US Citizen. Have you found those records? They should at least give the name of the country where he had been a citizen prior to his US Citizenship.
