I am trying to pin down the immigration of the brothers Casimir and Petras Tamkus who immigrated to Scranton PA from the Kaunas area. Casimir (Charles) arrived around 1900. Petras (Peter) may or may not have been on the same ship. Another brother, Josuos (Joseph) came over around 1908. Their father was probably Gergis (George); mother was probably Mary (possible surname Misiukas or something like that).

We are trying to locate a specific village/town in Lithuania they might have come from. They appear to have been lured to US by work in mines around Scranton.

Are you a Tamkus descendent whose ancestor came from the Kaunas area? What do you know about your family and/or the village they came from? Any information could be helpful.Thank you.
