Parent's surnames. searching for grandparents in Mexico & U.S.

I had trouble finding one of my grandfather's location in U.S. All I know was that he and his wife had travelled to U.S. Then while my grandmother was alive, she told me "back in those days we didn't have to register to enter the United States, only pay .25 cents to cross the border".
She claimed they arrived while my mother was a baby.
I knew from family converstions that some of her 'stories' were true to a certain extent. However it took me years to locate them in the U.S. Census.
And her is why

In Mexico, the paternal surname is always listed right after the given first and/or second given name, then the father's last name follows finally last surname written is the mother's surname.

Unlike in the U.S. where we wrtie our father's name after we have written our first one or two given names and our mother's surname.

Often, some people like my grandfather will just write the initial of his father's surname.

That is the reason I couldn't find them. My grandfather had written his name as "Francisco R. Mata" but in the American system it would read Francisco Mata Reyes.

I also learned that they came to U.S. about 1917, and that my grandmother's middle name is miss interpreted with the letter "H" I never knew my grandmother to have any name with that letter. Her name was Maria Luisa Farfan Zuniga, "Farfan" was her paternal surname. I also noted that one of her son's name was miss interpreted as "Guillerma" when in fact his name was Guillermo.
It seems also that the parents on this census actually wrote down the nick names of their children or relatives a lot of the times rather than their given name. This I found out form my other great grandparents on the census records. And their descendants also miss wrote the city or Country of birth.

An example I know that one ancestor was A Jewish German, it seems he was hiding from the Germans in the early years of the two wars that he lied on the Census as to his nationality, so to this day I haven't found him. However, I did find a record but not in the census.

Avise, search varied name combinations and countries.

And if anyone knows anything about the McMills, Fitzpatrick ,Graham, Reyes, Mata, Farfan, Zuniga, Please reply
Looking for my father.

This would be my first attempt to find my biological father. My mother did not tell me much about him. But what she did say ,"that his name was Jesus Ramiez, and he was very tall and handsome." Also, he was from Zacatecaca, Mexico and he did not have his paper's to be here in the United States. They did meet and worked together at a hotel,in the downtown in Denver, CO. I was born on April 18, 1974 at 8:05 a.m. My name is Valerie V. Apodaca, and would like my father to meet his 4 grandkids, and his new son-in-law. My mothers name was Elizabeth A. Apodaca when they first meet, but only her last name has changed two different times, when she was Ortiz, and now Rivera. I would like to know alot about my father, and would like him to know that I am his daughter. I did move away from Colorado to Texas, and right now the only people in my life are my children and my husband. I miss you, and don't even know you.
Your daughter,
Valerie V. Apodaca-Gilbert

Looking for information on Garcias from Arandas and Guadalajara

I would greatly appreciate anybody who can help me find my mother’s father’s family Manuel Garcia 1910, Arandas Jalisco, Mexico. I hope I can find some of her family before she dies. This is her lifelong dream. I also need information on the following last names: Garcia, (Perez, Macias Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico and la Yesca, Nayarit, Mexico, Trujillo Guadalajara, Mexico), (Espinosa, Arciniega, Serna, Godines from Mexico, D.F.). Below you will find all the information that I have. All of the information that you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated for ever, Dr. Rosa Espinosa Garcia.

My great grandmother was Julia Macias she was born between 1890 and 1895 (born in either Tepic Nayarit or la Yesca, Nayarit). My great-grandmother had a brother Estanislao Macias (Tio Tany- used to sell churros in Guadalajara). My great-uncle Tany never married. My great grandmother married Mateo Macias apparently he was from Spain. They had two children:

Pablo Pérez Macias (Married Maria Guadalupe Andrade) and Rafaela Pérez Macias

GARCIA

Rafaela Pérez Macias (marry name: De León). My grandmother Rafaela had a daughter, my mother, Margarita (Cosme) Garcia Perez born in Guadalajara in 9-27-1940. My mother’s father was Manuel Garcia. My grandmother broke the relationship with my mom’s father when she realized he was married. My mother saw his father few times, and lost contact when my grandmother emigrated to Mexico, D.F. I do not know much about my grand father. Just that he was married and that he had children. My mother believes that he had a daughter that was also born in 1940 with the same name Margarita. She believes she had other children. She also believes that her father’s mother’s name was Marta. There is the rumor that my mother’s father comes from a large family, and that some of them lived in Mexico, D.F. and even in Laredo, Texas. My mother believes that Roque (Rogelio?) Garcia from Laredo who worked at La Posada in Laredo, Texas was her cousin. This man already died and she was unable to verify some of the information.

My grandmother Rafaela Perez Macias married Jesus De Leon Trujillo (who had been previously married). Rafaela Perez Macias and Jesus De Leon Trujillo had four children. Maria De Los Ángeles, Jesús, José Asunción (Jose had a twin who died as a baby) and Quirinito, who died as a very young child maybe 4 o 5 years old.

Espanol

I am searching for the families of decendants of Prospero and Maria Montes. Their families married into the Espinosa, Hernandez, Ramos, Ramierez families. Some of the towns they lived in were: Santa Maria, San Nicholas, El Carrizal, Zimapan etc. I believe I need to contact Zimapan in order to get birth certificates. Is this correct? Does anyone know who I can write to, inorder to get this information? Also, is anyone familiar with this family. Thanks

luis demetrio angeles castro where are you? Donde estas?

I'm looking for a brother in law of mine. His name is Luis Demetrio Angeles-Castro, born Sept 15th 1976 in DF, Mexico to Teresa Castro Herrera and Luis I (I believe Ignacio) Angeles Nieves. They also had another son named Jose who died as an infant of menangitis.

In 1983, Luis Ignacio ran away with Luis Demetrio never to be seen again. Teresa was pregnant with my now husband, and fled to the US. We are now trying to locate Luis Demetrio.

If it helps, Luis Ignancio's parents are Mel. Angeles (father) and Higinia Nieves. He was most likely born in Hidalgo Mexico around 1951. He would be about 53 or 54 and was a police officer or something similar in DF, Mexico while Teresa and he were married (1976-1983).

Teresa's parents are Juana Herrera (now living in the US with Teresa) and Francisco Castro (unknown).

If anyone has any info about this family, we would really appreciate it. Please email me- mrsangeles@gmail.com

thank you! Gracias!
My name is Mary Stone and I am the granddaughter of David Mijares / Minjares Valles and Oralia Garcia. They had 5 children, Zulema, Carmen, Antonio, and Nora born in Chihuahua, Mexico and a son, David Sergio Valles born in El Paso Texas.

Don't have much detail on my grandfather, however my grandmother's father was Jose Garcia and she had 4 sisters whose names might have been Henrietta, Emma, Alicia and Estela.

I strongly suspect that there is family belonging to my grandmother in Parral, Mexico.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me directly at: iwasamightymouse@earthlink.net

Thank you very much for your help.

I am looking for my birth father who I believe is from Chipicuaro, Guanajuato and may have family in Acambaro Guanajuato. The only information I have is that in 1969 he was in Northern California (Santa Cruz County) and that same year returned to Mexico. His name is possibly Jose Carmen Alberto but came to the United States under the name of Gabriel Trujillo. He may be using the name Alberto Trujillo. Another possible last name might be Perez. His birth year could possibly be 1953. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
