Baby Dead at Sea

Surnames: Eustache
My ancestors Francois and Marguerite Eustache were coming to America from France in 1854 with their baby, Pierre. The passeger list says that Pierre and Marguerite died. I know that Marguerite did not die, but Pierre did. Pierre was about 1 year old. What I want to know is what did they do with the body? Was the baby just thrown overboard or buried upon arrival? And if they did bury it on land did they take the body all the way to where they settled in Ohio? My hunch is he was buried at sea. Any insight is welcome! Thanks!
