Classification: Immigration
Surnames: SCHLENCKER, SLINKER, SLINKARD, SINCLAIR, CLINKER
This is what I have found. It was listed in the "Pennsylvania: The Foreigners Who Took the Oath Of Allegiance", I think that was the name of the book, on page 393. The website The Palatine Project Ship Lists has a several ships dating back to the 1600s, which the Ship Leathley is listed, but not much information. Most ships listed only men age 16 and over, but some ships listed men, women, and children. The Ship Leathley left Hamburg, Germany, then to Cowes, England, then to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Note: The "*" after the name is my notes at the bottom not what was stated in the book. The "**" is the Schlencker's (Slinker's) that are my ancestors. Spelling of names are typed exactly how it is in the book.
The book states:
LIST OF FOREIGNERS IMPORTED IN THE SHIP Leathley, CAPT. JOHN LICKLEY, FROM Hamburg, LAST FROM COWES.
QUALIFIED SEPT. 19, 1753.
