Thanks Russell. Had a look at the list via Trove. Unfortunately my husband's great-grandfather Philip Bartle/Barkle wasn't listed, so not sure now whether this is his brother William. There is a Mary Barkle listed too that doesn't fit. Oh well will keep searching. Would dearly love to know when Philip arrived in Oz.I know he was here by 1878 ,
as was witness at brother William's marriage to Jane Hicks.
