My grandfather was Heinrich Wilhelm Koopmann and his wife was Marie and his 4 kids were Lydia, Alice, Charles, and Reinhart. I have a passenger list when the family came over in 1911 but that's not what I'm looking for. My grandfather had been a sailor in the German Merchant Marine prior to moving to the US. I was looking for information regarding the ships he worked/sailed on, etc. If I could find where the archives are for the German Merchant Marine (or whatever they call it)it would be a start but I can't find anything on the internet.
