Hi again,

OK, some more information:

In 1905, at age 21, Frederick E. Voegelin Jr., was living in Breckenridge, County of Wilkin, Minnesota where he was working as a clerk for the railroad. In that record it states that both his parents were born in Germany.

In the 1910 census, Frederick and his wife "Stella" were living in District 1565, New Trier, County of Cook, Illinois at 922 Oakwood Ave. Stella is listed as being born in Iowa, her father in New York and her mother in Ohio. His occupation is listed as a "dealer in Stocks and Bonds". It says that they were married for 1 year so now I think that it narrows the year of marriage at 1909.

You mentioned a Mildred C. Voegelin. She was actually a direct cousin to your father Phillip. Her father, Charles F. N. Voegelin was a brother to your grandfather, Frederick Ernest Voegelin Jr.. Mildred's father was also a minister (Presbyterian Church) and in 1920, Mildred was living with her parents (Charles and Margaret H.) and her sister Florence in Youngstown, Ohio where her father had a church.

In the 1920 census:

352 Ridgewood Road, District 313, South Orange Countyy of Essex, New Jersey

-Voegler (looks like Voeglin on actual census), Fred E; age 36; born New Jersey; parents born in Germany; banker
-Estelle; age 37; wife; born in Iowa; father in New York; mother in Ohio
-Byron; age 9; son; born in Illinois
-Philip; age 3; son; born in New Jersey
-Kenneth; age 1; son; born in New Jersey
-Harold; age 4/12; son; born in New Jersey
-?, Tom; age 40; butler
-?, Emma; age 42; maid

In 1930, your father's uncle and aunt, Charles and Margaret Voegelin, with their daughter Florence, were living in Ocean City, County of Cape May, New Jersey. Charles was still a minister in the Presbyterian Church and Florence was listed as being a trained nurse. In the same census year, Mildred C. Voegelin was living in Manhattan, New York and working as a registered nurse. So it seems that Mildred C. Voegelin never married.

Your grandfather died 1 April 1966 in Suffolk County, New York.

I'll try to find some more info for you.

John
