I am trying to locate records on Patrick Foley & Katharine Kirevin that immigrated to USA in the 1800. Their daughter Cecilia Lorretta was born in Kansas in 1876 so I am estimating they came in late 1860's to 1875. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I came across an old photograph, in great nick, of George Teskey & his wife while searching some old Baker photos from my family. The date on the back of the photo is Oct. 20 1906. The photo was taken in Iowa, USA.

If anyone would like it or a copy of it, please let me know. I am sure someone from the Teskey family would love it!

Regards,

Melanie.

...or something.

I am seeking the immigration route for my Great Grandfather, Daniel Banks, born ~1880 in County Donegal. He immigrated ~1894 (according to census records) but I cannot find him anywhere in Passenger lists and such. His siblings Mary, Patrick, Bridget, Margaret, Phillip, Ellen, and Thomas all came to the US as well (settled in Chicago). They did not apparently come at the same time, but again - can't find any of them. Where are the most likely ports that I should be concentrating on? I am 99.99% sure they did not come through Ellis Island/New York.
Thanks

I am trying to find out more information about Frederick Mayberry. This family is said to have been German and to have come to NJ sometime before 1750. Curiously they ended up in Bedford County Virginia where Frderick and his so Henry signed a petition in a Presbyterian church. Many of the other signers of the petition appear to be Irish or Scot or both judging by their surnames (Kennedy, Campbell, Armstrong, Dooley)
My theory is that this Mayberry family might well be part of the Palatine group settled in Ireland who came to America with other peopel who lived around them.
Is anyone of aware of a Palatine German family named something that would translate to Mayberry?

Valerie Reese
Looking for ancestors to Philip St. John married to Ann Dolmage in late 1700s County Limerick, IRE. The names Sohn and Son are thought to have evolved to St. John. These last two were likely brothers from Germany that made their way to Ireland with the Palatines: Elias and Philip, in the early 1700s. With emphasis on French pronunciation of St John or Sohn, it could make origination actually France and that it is possible that they went east to Germany with the Hugenauts to escape religious persecution before there leaving for England (Ireland). Both brothers were in the Holland emmigration lists.
Dan

I have hit a brick wall with my Graham and Houghtalin ancestors. I have evidence leading me to suspect a connection to Palatines from Ireland--in particular, the Embury family who traveled to NY from Limerick in 1760 and later settled in Fredericksburg, Ontario.

My earliest confirmed Graham ancestor is James Sweet Graham b. abt 1824, believed to be the son of William Henry Graham and Pattey Sweet. Have been unable to find any trace of William Henry or Pattey's origins.

My earliest confirmed Houghtalin ancestor is William Houghtalin who married Mary Davy in 1818 in Fredericksburg. I also have been unable to trace William Houghtalin's origins.

Would appreciate any information/assistance.

Sincerely,
Jeannie Graham

Welcome to the IRL-Palatine Message Boards!

During the great migration from the Palatinate in the early 1700s a sizeable number of families ended up in Ireland. There they settled and prospered. Later on for a variety of reasons many Irish Palatines, as they had become known, emigrated from Ireland. Their destinations were varied: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Europe and others.

There are now IP researchers from all over the planet who are working to track down their Irish Palatine forebears. These message boards are a tool to assist all IP genealogists and historians in that fascinating endeavor.

There is a mailing list associated with these Irish Palatine Message Boards. If you would like to subscribe to the list in addition to posting information and queries to these boards, we welcome your participation.

To subscribe to the mailing list send an email with the word, subscribe, in the subject field and body of the message to the following address: IRL-PALATINE-L-request@rootsweb.com

By return email you'll receive a confirmation of your successful subscription along with a welcome message.

Best wishes,

Susan Laursen Willig
IRL-PALATINE Boards and List Administrator

Hi:
I'm Virginia Waltman Heck:Ponca City,OK<*}}}><
I luckily found the IRL-PALATINE-rootsweb.com when I 1st began my search for the above Surnames, all Palatines from the lower Palatinate of Germany whose parents emigrated to England from there in 1709,from there to Ballingrane,Limerick Co.Ireland. The children of the above immigrants emigrated to NYCy,NY 1760 on the Ship Pery. Being Loyalist they fled to Montreal Canada after the Rev.War was over to avoid more persecution. From Montreal they went to Prescott,Ontario Canada.
Tracing the children of Paul Heck & Barbara Ruckle has been by far the most difficult part of tracing these ancestors. I have had such tremendous help form the IRL-PALATINE msg board & members. I try to repay when I can but I don't have all the tremendous books & literature that many of them so generously share.
Just wanted to thank everyone for all their previous help & any help I receive after that.

http://community.webtv.net/vheck/MYFAMILYTREES
