Hagopian/Dulgarian

I am at the end of my line. My great grandfather Jacob (Hagop) Hagopian, b. 4/1/1868 Armenia d. 8/2/1935 Southbend?, Indiana?, and his wife, Henrietta (Heripsime) Dulgarian, b. 3/21/1875 Armenia d. 3/1967 Southbend?, came here fleeing the Turkish. They had 9 children:

Charles
Mary
Hig (Haig)
Peroz
Jeruld
Virginia (My Grandmother)
Rosie
Daniel
Jack

I think my great-grandparents lived in the North-East U.S., but my grandmother's memory was failing when I started asking questions or when she thought to write down what she knew. I am looking for ANY information on the persons listed above. Please respond to this message if you have any.

"Malkhas"

I'm searching for any traces of my great great grandfather Ardashes or Arteches Hovsepian. He was born around 1877 and hailed from Trebizond, Armenia. He escaped the genocide with his mother and brothers and fled to Washington D.C. His mother started a restaurant there. I have information from the middle of his life and on, but there are still some missing bits I'd like to clear up. Towards the end of his life, Arteches wrote several articles for an Armenian newspaper in NYC and five volumes entitled "Zartonk", which means "Awakening", concerning his activities during the Soviet takover of Armenia. He wrote under the pseudomyn Malkhas. Arteches died in 1962 in Beruit, Lebanon. ANY information about his publications or his wife, Sonya Samuelian. Thanks!

Darvishian or Sarafian family from Keghi

I am trying to go back further in my maternal grandmother's side but all of the family I'm not aware of were killed in the genocide. Her grandfather was Charles Darvishian and her grandmother was June Sarafian. Charles lived in Detroit however June never made it to the US. Any information? Also, my grandmother's father's surname was Matoian (died in Detroit, immigrations logs have him spelled Matoyan).

Ellis Island Immigation Records

First of all I'd like to thank the people at Ancestry.com for creating this important message board for us to discuss our Armenian ancestors. My great-grandparents came to America between 1915-1921. Their legacy, and the legacy of all immigrants have helped weave the very fabric of our country.

A note about Immigration Records at www.ellisislandrecords.org
I discovered as I was searching for immigration records for my great-grandmother HiaganoushYEMENEDJIAN, how important it is to use the alternate spelling search. Many of the ship manifests have names spelled incorrectly, as was pretty common during that time.
Her name was spelled incorrectly as was that of her future mother in-law Gohar TELLALIAN (spelled on the ship manifests as DELLALIAN).
If any one would like to share their search experiences here, I welcome the discussion!
Sincerly,
Sarah Wardlaw Jones

Looking for Armenian Grandfather

I'm trying to find out when my Grandfather Peter *Bedros) Atigian came to this country and any other info about him. All I know is that is was before 1918 and that his fathers name was Sarkis and his mothers name was Mary. Would any one know where I could find this out? I don't know if he came through Ellis Island. I have tried to find him in the records there with no luck. Would anyone know where in Armenia I could try to find records? Thanks
