I have my Great Grandfather's Declaration of Intent that lists his arrival date in the U.S. as March 17, 1873 on the Mosel, however his name is not in the passenger list for that particular ship. I looked at all other ships around that date and did not find him. An Aunt informed me he will not be on a list, because he was a stowaway. Other than that, there really is not any family knowledge of his origins. After reading through the process Emigrants went through when reaching New York, is it possible he could have made it ashore without detection, and if so how?
