I compared a few passenger list images from Ancestry with the Castle Garden database and found a third or more of passengers that were on the actual lists missing from the CG data. There were cases of five or more family members traveling together on the Ancestry pass. list but only two or three listed by CG's indexing team. Also- entire ship arrivals on Ancestry not on CG. Admittedly a small sample, but evidence that Castle Garden's data is incomplete. For more details on missing info see
