Mads Eskildsen - Castle Garden, Ancestry...HELP

Surnames: Eskildsen, Sorensen, Madsen
This is another attempt to find out the name of the ship my ggf, Mads Eskildsen; his wife, Ane Marie Sorensen; and his children, Soren, Nettie, William, Tony, Mary, Tillie, Anton, Josephine, and Lena Madsen sailed when they immigrated to America.
I have a copy of his declaration of intentions which states that he was born in Denmark on or about 1831; that he immigrated to th US and landed at the port of New York on or about April 1881. This would led me to believe that I would find his name either in Ancestry or possibly Castle Garden. He is not there. Possibly his name is so mangled that I have not found it. Would appreciate any suggestions relating to this matter.
