The very best search web page for Ellis Island arrivals is Stephen Morse One Step
Searching for Sounds like (many) finds some results simply searched for anyone coming from a town begining with APID last name beginning with B and the with P
And searching for those who came from place begining with Apid finds 87... and a few spelling it begins with Opid...this takes quite a while to search and does not catch all who are listed but I have used with a fair amount of success.

NOTE Apidia was occupied by The Ottoman Turkish Empire at the turn of the last century. So Turkey should be used as a birthplace in a search also.
