Well I'm not sure I'm going about this in the correct manner and wanted a second opinion to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree.
For the longest time, I've been searching for the manifest for the great-greats from Hungary/Czechoslovakia - surname Torbik. The name appears so many ways that it took me months just to locate them on the census.
Anyway, I found one that seems like it might fit, but I might be stretching it just b/c I want it to. Here's what I found and have:
The manifest lists - early March 1908
Torbik, Marya, age 26, F, Single, from Nagyharsus, HU.
Suga, Kataryna, age 45, F, Married, from Nagyharsus as well.
Suga, Marya, age 15, F, Single, " "
Suga, Wasyl, age 10, M, Single, " "
My Mary Suga [born about 1888-1890 in reality, but according to manifest would have been born 1893] married Michael [Michal or some variant] Torbik. However, the Marya Suga listed here seems a little too young to have been married and had a child by the next year .
---Is it possible her age might have been recorded incorrectly?
It's seems very coincidental that both people from the same location, with those surnames together, are on the same ship and all headed to Chicago.
---I think Marya Torbik could be a sister to Michael Torbik, and coming with the Sugas to America, and maybe Marya Suga married Michael shortly after that?
---Any suggestions? Am I stretching this out a little bit too much?
