Marselas Family-were cordwainers (Leather tradesmen) came to MD-lived /worked on Gay street- Had shoe store in early 1800's also a French hat shop-
They changed their name to Marselas.... Possibly came to MD in 1755 with the Acadian expulsion-as they were French but protestant-I found John Edason Marselas served in MD militia in War of 1812-also a James Marselas also in War of 1812
Would love to know more about them....any help out there?
any ideas?
