Classification: Query
Surnames: Rydgig/Rydzyk/Ridgik
My great granfather, Mefhody (Tom / Thomas in America) was originally from Wejsowa, Galicia, Austria. His son in law, my grandfather, John (Jan in Austria) Tyrpak (Also spelled Tirpak, Tyrpack, and Turpack in America) married Annie, Tom, daughter. John Tyrpak was born in Glicia, Austria also.
Tom Rydgig was said to have "traveling" shoes and spent time in PA as well as traveling forth and back from his homeland. His original "landing" so to speak I can not doucment for certain.
I have several of his "cousins" which are actually related and their name spellings in the USA are noted as Rydzyk and Ridgik. Those I know of settled in both Missouri and Illinois. I have come across several similar names in PA and NJ but can not accurately document them as being any person I already know of or someone of interest. I ordered Tom's death Certificate from IL, but have not received this yet. Of note, his wife, Sophie Fedak is said to have descendend from the Romanov's of Russia. I will post again when I receive the Cert. In the mean time, if you come across something you deem interesting, please keep me posted.
Sent to your direct email as well.
