I am trying to find out if there was any type of mental institution in Erie between 1880-1885. Sometime in this period my 2nd great-grandmother was living in Erie, where she died in 1885, and her mother was caring for her young children. Since 2 of her children were manic-depressive, I've wondered if that was why she was away from her family.
I would welcome any info regarding such a place. Thanks
