And now I go directly to my question. I'm researching someone who was the town major in 1906. He registered the death of his mother in 1907 as well as another family member in 1908. He appeared as witness in multiple civil records until about June 1908. I can't find a death certificate for him in five surrounding towns. In 1910 US Federal Census, his wife reported she was a widow. An option is that he was admitted to a TB Sanatorium to die. There are other hospitals listed in census pages, but I would have to look into Sanatoriums in larger towns. He will not be in any major federal census and even though I read that USA did a separate census in Puerto Rico by 1899 and even if I find it I have no way to tell where he was from June 1908 till 1910, when the census was done. No family members alive. Any idea how to proceed? Thanks.
