I am the great granddaughter to Robert Lafayette Holloway (b. 1891 Corsicana), son of William Richard Holloway (b. 1863 Corsicana).
My Father is the son of William Calvin Holloway, Robt's youngest surviving son. The 4th child passed as a toddler.
The reason I am seeking assistance is because:
My Grand Uncle Robt. Miller Holloway, my grandfather's oldest brother, was the recipient of all the family momentos, portaits, heirlooms, etc. He married twice and in the second marriage he passed. I can't say that everyone in the family was very pleased with his second marriage. It was very soon after the death of his first wife. He married his high school sweetheart. Opal KETCHUM or TAYLOR??? Burns. Opal and Miller were married for a long time before Miller passed. I have very fond memories of both My Uncle Miller and my Aunt Opal. My grandfather passed in 1991, the year I graduated High School. My Uncle Miller passed in 1995. Aunt Opal, I found out a couple of years ago, passed in 2008.
When Aunt Opal passed away she left everything to her eldest daughter Forestene. That includes all of our Holloway Family Heirlooms and such. Aunt Opal and Uncle Miller both had children from previous marriages and they were well into Adulthood with their own families when Opal and Miller married. Miller's son should have received anything of the Holloway's such as family portraits, etc. I remember when Syble was alive, that she had all of the Holloway and Franks Family portraits hanging on the wall in their livingroom.
My Uncle Miller's son, and my 2 Aunt's (sisters to my father) all have said that they have tried to communicate with Forestene to get back any Holloway family memiors. I have no way to contact Forestene, and wish I could. I know nothing about her and have asked my Aunts to exhaust all avenues of communication with Forestene. No such luck.
If anyone on this board knows Forestene or the family, could you please contact me. I am a member here on Ancestry and you can contact me through my public profile. I am the one in my family trying to find out everything I can on our Holloway Family Tree. The link to the old Corsicana would have been my Grandfather and his two brothers but they are since passed and my Grandmother, bless her heart has told me everything she can about the Holloway's from what she remembers. Her and my Grandfather married in their late 20's after he returned from the war. But she can't provide me the portraits of my great grandparents or my great greats, etc. I'd like to complete my books of Corsicana Holloway's before my Grandmother passes. I thank you in advance.
