Little help please . Looking for info on Donald McDonell , who was apparrently a young soldier in the KRRNY during the Revolutionary War . Military records have him being entered into and also discharged from Loyalist forces in August of 1777 . He is said to have died as a result of being wounded at battle of Fort Stanwix in same month 1777 . His widow [name unknown], and young daughter [born 1770] fled to Canada and settled in Charlottenburg Twp following the war. In 1801 and 1818 his daughter Ann / Nancy McDonell applied for and received land grants as the daughter of said Loyalist Donald McDonell who was killed in 1777 . Please check your McDonell Trees , or if you have military histories of this time period , so that this deserving man may be properly acknowledged . Thanks in advance .
