I have one of these marks on the left-hand side of my lower back, and can remember my mum telling me stories of how she had to fight against social services taking me away from her due to suspected abuse. I am now 20 years old, and though the mark has faded, it is still present and am often asked how I got my 'bruise'.
I am interested in the comments that they occur in Mongoloid children (and those of Mongoloid descent), but after spending a lengthy amount of time reseaching the family tree, we have came to the conclusion that we are of pure English blood (and that our family name was well-known amongst Norfolk's aristocracy). What interests me further is that no-one else in my family has such a mark, and I suppose I am wondering that would it be possible for my future children to have this mark as well?
