BirthMark: Brown spot in Left blue eye? (Termed: Sectoral Heterochromia).

I'm seeking info on a BirthMark I have: a brown spot in my left blue eye, right eye is blue (Termed: Sectoral Heterochromia). I have straw-blond hair, and reddish-blond beard.

My Uncle: Oscar Faugust, son of: Alma Alquist + Gus Faugust of Jacksonville, IL, USA. They were of Swedish + Danish decent. Also had this same BirthMark.

My Great Aunt: Nell Faugust used to tell me as a child that it was a, "Mark of Swedish Royality!" My Mother scoffed at this.

Recently, a lot of attention has been paid to this trait as the Actress: Kate Boswell has the same BirthMark. There's now even contacts which can be worn to give the 'look' of sectoral heterochromia.

I did some research and apparently this trait was most common in the Royal Families of Russia, Denmark, and other European Courts.

*Seeking any further specific info, and knowledge of individuals whom also have this trait! It's apparently quite rare, and gene, which is recessive must come from both parents!
Hello Ms. MOnroe,
Perhaps, you have Chinese ancestry that's unknown to you. My name is Mila I was born in the Philippines, but my I have multiple racial ethnicity from my great- grandparents side of the Family Spain, Italian, Hebrew grandmother side of the family Chinese, and my motherside of the family Romans and Indian Bloodlines so, I consider myself not a pure Filipino because of the different genetic/DNA codes in my blood. My birth country is the Philippines but in actuality I am from the World Race.
I am proud that I am from the World Race. My family relative are scatter from all over Europe starting in Poland, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Netherland, Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, and United States. I also have a birthmark with the shape of a Star with 7 corners with color of light brown. I do not know what it means but I am happy to have this birthmark perhap I inherited it from my great-great grand parent. So, do not worry about your birthmark because my grandson have also two Mongolian Birthmark. Its Genetic but will not cause serious problem. My son have those birthmark but went away when he grow up. I hope this helps you.

Sincerely,
Mila

I was just curious to know if it is possible to have a white birth mark in the first place. The doctors have always asked me what had happened on my back when they see the birth mark, strangest thing that I was born with it, but it zigs and zags. Just like a lighting bolt. It doesn't sink in, or stick out...about a two inches long. My brother has the mark as well, while the younger sister is missing hers. I'm of Native American line so I don't know if that's a connection. Spiritually I believe in visions, jounerys, and healing. But it could also be explained that we were prob leaning on the pelivic bone while in-utro. Anyone else born with this mark?

Hi,

Not sure if this a birth mark exactly, but I have come across a family branch (KERR of Argyllshire, Scotland) where many of the descendants experience white/gray hair very early.

In one family, the mother & father were actually related to each other (1st cousins, once removed) so it looks like the chances of inheritting this gene were doubled - all 6 of their children went white early. Some of the grandchildren have done so too. And by early, I mean some were snow white by 19 years old!

Has anyone ever come across this before?

Mary

I was born with mongolian spots which went away at an early age. I also had asian facial features as a baby. Both my parents are caucasion. I am interested in finding out if these spots and features can lead me to some of my heritage. My family doesn't know too much about past relitives. I thought that if I could find out more about these spots, maybe I could find out more about my family tree. If anyone has info on what nationalities tend to get these spots, and what regions in the United States midwest see more of these spots in newborns, or any other info I would love you to pass it on. Thanks

Birthmark that looks like the big dipper.

I am not sure if I am in the right place, nor why I am telling all of you guys this, but I guess I am just trying to make sence of it.
We all have birthmarks(dimples as some call them), or those brown spots. Some bigger and some smaller, and in weird places at times.

I have a series of birth marks on my arms both left and right that look like what I call the big dipper.
Allow me to elaborate. This is when I look at my arms normally from the top, I am not twisting my arm or pulling on my skin to make it look as such.
Left Hand: It starts about 5cm above my wrist, a single dot, next one is aoubt 4cm up, in almost a straight line.
Next one is roughly 8cm up, 2cm next to it is another one. Continuing up 5cm, is another one. Now we have are getting closer to my elbow. From this point on, I have 6 marks, all about 3cm apart going up in a traight line. When it gets to my shoulder a square.
Right Hand, same patterns starting from my wrist up to my shoulder, although not as many dots on my hand.

At first I thought that they run in a straight line because it is on or near a vain, however it is not.
- I am open to suggestions, theories or just whatever you think on this topic.

Ps. it looks something like this.

| | | | | <-my fingers
| | <- Wrist
.

.
.

.
| . . | <- elbow

.

.

.
.
.
. .
| . . | <-shoulder

WHY ME, LORD?!, did I have to find THIS board. (lol) Now y'all got ME thinking, too!!

I used to have 2 moles on my head, right at my hairline. 1 on either side. I've had them as far back as I can remember, and was told they were birthmarks. I was also told SOME folks referred to them as "devil's horns" - "the eyes of the devil". 1- was cut off in 1957.The doctor refused to cut the 2nd one off because he said that that one had a root to it.

I was displaced, as a young child, and I always secretly hoped that "one day" I would be identified BY this.

I don't suppose this would be a good time to mention the fact that I also have 3 sixes in my number. (for real-666)
Don't go getting ideas, here - I've always been a peace maker! lol.

Anyone else similar birth mark? beginning at the navel and upward about 2 inches, going around the right side of my body and ending at the spine. I have a white, white birth mark. My mother used to call it "ice cream". said it was because she craved "snow cream" when she was expecting me. it has never faded and it never tanned. i still have it at nearly 60.

Oh, and though not birthmark related but curios none the less, my youngest daughter was born with a complete knot in her umbilical cord. The dr. said he had never seen anything like it and was usually fatal if it happened at all.

Melissa

My son, who is of native decent, was adopted by us when he was 5 weeks old. He was born with a birth mark in the shape of a bear paw. An elder told us that it meant he was a healer and would have special powers. Ironically he was also born under the sign of the Bear in the native horoscopes. Even stranger is the fact that over the past two years we have vacationed for a total of 3 weeks in the Rockie Mountains and have seen over 40 black bears and two grizzlies....a couple have come right up to our car. Even my husband who "poo poo's" this type of belief usually is beginning to wonder about him. I'm facinated. Its beginning to really fade now - he's 5 now - but I was told that even if fades, the "power" of the birthmark will still be there. The native community called it a "totem"
Cheryl

The day before my birth my Mother was doing a load of wash out on the back porch she picked up the basket of wet clothes and started off the porch and her left foot went thru the edge of the porch and scraped a large area on her foot and leg causing it tolook like a burn in splotches by the ankle up the leg and down on the foot, it took a lot of skin off and looked very raw, The next morning I ewas born and on my left foot and leg I have markings just like the scrape on my Mother identical patches of deep pink skin, The doctor wrote about it in some medical journal I was delivered at home and they say you can"t mark a baby ! Its ugly and everyone asks if I hace been burned but I think its kinda cool to have knowing the story of Mothers injury,

For as long as I can remember I have had a darker mark on my right thiegh. As I gained weight it inlarged. When my first son was born,he had none, but a larger mark[looked like a coffee stain showed up on my left forearm.I noticed it one day after gardening when I started to try to scrub the "dirty"spot off my arm.Was shocked to find it didn't wash off, when second son born he too had a pea size spot only on his left inside ancle. It has enlarged as he grew.Third son didn't have one "When"he was born. His showed up after he was one year old on the back of his right shoulder, also a nice round spot, which has grown slightly since he has grown.Could this be something passed through the genes.Maybe my missing father has one.Does anyone know Jack A. Root?

about 3/4 of an inch at longest, about 1/2 of an inch width, this dark brown diamond(as on playing cards) has it's location on the inside of my right arm,on the muscle part. it can be seen when i wear short-sleeved shirts, with the longer points of the diamond pointing directly to the elbow/shoulder shorter points to either side. i've always rather liked it. my gramma was born with one on her right cheek(not face),which was an ovoid shape and tan,but is paler now and much wider. i'm happy that mine is small.

i was born with a birthmark under one of my eyes, that is about an inch big. Its light in color now, used to be darker when i was younger, and gets darker when out in the sun. Anyways, it looks like a backwards two that has had water poured on it, and caused it to run. (kinda like a water color painting, when water touches it, it smears.) and i also have a perfectly round birthmark on my left side of my waist, thats very dark. my grandmother told me i had them because i was kissed by angels hahaha...

Let me tell you a story and you decide...years ago I was with one of my aunts in CT, she had to take one of her children to the emergency and I offered to go with her. When we were going by the elevator I heard a shrill laugh and looked and saw a man with a birthmark on his face and arms.. Right then I swore to God that if I had any children and one was born with a birthmark I would still love it. Well it so happened that 1979 my forth child (a male) was born with a birthmark 65% of his body...The doctor said that if the birthmark went completely around his head he would be a vegetable. It was partial on his head and arms and legs. He is one of the smartest children I have...The only other mark that I know of is on my cousin Linda--it was a bright red mark on her forehead..it has since dissappeared. Thought you would like to know...thanks for now Jim Ells

When I was born there was a Large Round Blister on my right should Blade, which later turned into a soft spot and perfectly round. Almost like a bullet hole. I had one dream in my life, this dream was of a women running down the center of a street, dressed in peasant type of clothing around the turn of the century 1900's New York , and she was shot in the back, by a male. I remember she may have been about 20 years of age not much older. But I never had the dream again. I am also very shell shocked. As a child I couldn't stand the sound of Thunder, Sonic Booms. To this day a loud sudden gun like sound (something falling on a tile floor, balloons popping) scares me right out of my shoes. I was also born with a pigment on the right side of my arm, shoulder and back. Light, but slightly darker then my skin. My Grandmother also had this same birth mark. But, my children do not have this pigment. Guess I have to see if their children get it.
