Surnames: Hilpert,mahlov-Zeiter,Hammelin,Weichlein,Steldt,Lilienschild
I am looking for information on medeival occupations.According to records in Germany,some ancestors of my late father were Herditary Foresters in Baden.
I'm sure this postion was the same in England. How did one get to be a forester and how did the position get handed down from father to son?
