Piers was not a descendant of Edward I; however his wife was Margaret de Clare (d 1342), the granddaughter of Edward I. They had but one child, Joan (b 12 Jan 1312, d 13 Jan 1325). After Piers death Margaret took as her second husband Hugh de Audley. By him she had a daughter Margaret, who married Ralph de Stafford. This daughter Margaret was Margaret de Clare's ONLY heir. I don't know if she had descendants.
Piers did have an illegitimate daughter, Amie de Gaveston, who married John de Driby, one of the king's yeomen. See NGSQ, vol. 88, March 2000, pgs, 32-49. It's an article by Paul C Reed ""Proving" illegitimacy--Amie, the daughter of the king's favorite, Piers de Gaveston--not that of his wife."
