Hi Deborah!!
I have gotten some more LePori information.
Now, one of the family historians has not offered to reply to your query but, he gave me some valuable information. Also, another family historian's e-mail address has been given to me and I will contact him.
In Origlio, a small village in Southern Switzerland, on July 8, 1828, a son was born to Giovanni and Maddalena LePori. The boy was named Serafino. Serafino was the third child of seven children.
Serafino LePori married Anna Maria Berger October 13, 1863 in Marsailles, France. They had three children: Anna Marie, Leon (called Leo), another daughter, name unknown.
In 1878 or 1879, Serafino left his family in France and came to the United States. He settled in Floresville, Texas and continued working as a stone mason. In 1882, Anna Maria and the three children, also, came to America. The LePori family lived in a rock house on La Bahia Road. Anna Maria is believed to have died shortly after her arrival to Texas.
Later, many of the LePori descendants moved to Gonzales, Texas.
I have a few more details but, will contact the other LePori researcher and get back to you!
Nancy
P.S. Here I am TOTALLY UNRELATED but, excited about this LePori family and happy to help someone else!!
