Hi board
I recently read in the Rootweb newsletter that someone suggested using colored sand, wetted with a spray bottle, to press into the impressions left by long faded words on hard to read headstones to better reveal the letters. Does this sound benign or would it damage the stone in any way?
I do cemetery documentation and I would really like to be able to do something about the stones that are illegible.
I would find it a serious ethical offense to harm a gravestone in any way!
Thanks in advance.
