DATA can always be used no matter when it was published as data is not copyrightable even though the book containing it is.

If you have data from a book still in copyright, you can still use the data but cannot copy the book pages. You CAN list the title, author, publisher, and page from which you obtained the information.

As stated above, in the US, any book published before 1923 is out of copyright. Even some of the later ones may be if it was not renewed but that is harder to determine.
