What has helped me alot is a program my husband got me Publisher. It has a few newsletters to chose from. Each time I use another one and I can design it with clip art on the front if like for Christmas.
The newsletters there are 4 pages but since I have alot I can add more pages as needed I have stuck to 6 page with information on both sides of the pages. I use information family has given me when we call them or they send me information either e-mail or snail mail. I have found information on family on the internet and sometimes lucky enough to find pictures that go with the info. I have written the information with my daughter as the one checking for grammer and wording.
I have not asked for any subscriptions family members have given me money when they see us or send checks to me. I have been lucky that way the family members enjoy receiving the newsletters I send one in June as a second reminder of the reunion we have in August and one for christmas. What they have liked is reading about a town or a city that other family members live what they are like and history of the place.
I have a medical article telling about medical things that have happened with family members such as surgeries.
By keeping the amount of pages to just 6 written on both sides I know that the postage will be 60 cents a newsletter for mailing I use manilla envelopes size 6x9 they come 100 per box.
It does take alot of time but I do enjoy it plus the family will sit at the reunions talking about what has been in the newsletter. One year I wrote about Netherlands christmas, a christmas recipe from the Netheralnds and I put a hint in too. The next year was Germany because the family's history does go to Germany and Netherlands. I hope this helps. I will try and help you if you need more help.
