I recently came into possession of a family marriage certificate from 1888. It is readable, but over the years has been folded, and is therefore in 8 separate panels. Over the years someone taped it together (fortunately at least only using tape on the back of the document). I would like to repair and conserve the document. I have seen acid-free scrapbooking tape, as well as glue, etc. Does anyone have opinions on the acid-free scrapbooking tape? I also will place it in a polypropylene sleeve to preserve it once I've repaired it to some extent. Any suggestions??
